Gloria Pruneda was born and raised in the central valley. She attended Jefferson Elementary, Riverview Elementary, T.L. Reed, and Reedley High School. Gloria’s love for music started at the age of 6 when she was introduced to the guitar by her Uncle Juan Casarez. As she entered the fifth grade she started concert band playing the Trombone, Flute, Saxophone, and Tuba. While attending Reedley High School, she was a low brass section leader under the direction of Buddie Heise. She taught fellow peers their parts in music, took attendance, taught marching routines, and took pride in her work and team. After high school, she committed to serving her church by utilizing her musical talents. She played guitar and bass for the main worship team and went on to direct the youth worship team for 6 years.
Gloria is now a current music education major at Fresno City College where her main instrument of study is piano. Within the last two years of attending school, she has excelled in her studies and is now in intermediate/advanced piano classes with Dr. Brandon Bascom. She is an individual who likes to perfect her craft and strives to connect with her audience through her music. She is heavily inspired by composers Fredric Moupou, Frederic Chopin, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Personally, her current mentors and heroes are Dr. Brandon Bascom, and Dr. Astghik Gevorkyan. Looking ahead, Gloria’s desire is not only to teach music, but to instill a sense of confidence in her students to achieve the impossible.
“The awakening and enlightenment of one’s ability to comprehend auditory perception, vocal or instrumental sounds; combined in a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and most importantly the expression of human emotion in tune with the soul. Music is the food of love.” - Gloria Pruneda
