Carlos Vazquez is a local classical guitarist and former music student of Fresno City College. He transferred to California State University, Northridge in 2012 and earned both his bachelor and master degrees in classical guitar performance. He chose to attend CSUN, so he could study classical guitar from John Dearman a member of the Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ). Carlos enjoyed his time at CSUN where he learned from some of the best artists in the business, and improved as a guitarist, musician, and person. In addition to teaching lessons, Carlos is a part-time instructor at Fresno City College, and performs regularly throughout the Central Valley.
I teach guitar with a tremendous amount of passion. I want my students to feel like they are accomplishing their goals and are staying motivated. I discourage the idea of giving up on a student for under-performing unless they choose to no longer continue. I feel that with some students it takes a little more effort from me to help them get through the undesirable moments of learning the guitar. Ultimately, if a person has the desire and motivation to learn how to play the guitar I have no problem helping them reach their goals.
