Kevin Person Jr. 

Kevin Person Jr. began taking piano lessons at the age of 8 but did not truly become passionate about the instrument until he stumbled across jazz and gospel music. 

Later on he began to play the piano and organ at his fathers local church. After high school he pursued a degree in jazz performance at California State University Fresno, 

where he played in various jazz ensembles. During his studies at the University he studied piano under Andreas Werz and Craig VonBerg.

 

A note from Kevin:

It is very important to me to give students the tools to have creative freedom and choice within the structure of music. 

Music is a language and just like any language the speaker has the choice to express freely the way they feel within the structure of that language. 

I want to normalize making mistakes because mistakes lead to discovery and an endless amount of creative possibilities.
